In the last ten years there have been a few movies that have had a beer crawl integrated into the story line. Movies like “The Wedding Date” have scenes where the story includes a beer crawl are fan favorites. Many people have asked us if a beer crawl is like it is in the movies. Let’s start by describing what a beer crawl is. Wikipedia defines a beer crawl as the act of drinking in multiple pubs or bars in a single night. Cities around the world host bar crawls that act as social gatherings for both the community and tourists. Bar crawls are an excellent way to meet new people, promote the city, and introduce new bars and clubs. Every bar crawl is organized a little bit differently. Many times there is a theme to help make the event unique. Sometimes the bar crawl is free while other times there is a fee to participate. Many times when you purchase a ticket you get a wristband, mug, or t-shirt that lets the staff at the bars know that you are with the beer crawl. Most of the time the beer crawl organizers have negotiated different specials for the people that are participating in the crawl.
How to Organize a Pub Crawl
You may want to organize your own beer crawl. Sometimes beer crawls are organized for bachelor or bachelorette parties, birthday parties, and Greek life parties. When you organize your own beer crawl you probably will not be able to get discounts for each bar but you will be able to create the exact experience that you want for the evening. Bar crawls are hosted throughout the world. Around the holidays there are many Santa themed beer crawls. San Francisco, London, New York City, Brisbane, Vancouver, Belfast, and Moscow all host large Santa themed beer crawls called SantaCon. SantaCon originated in San Francisco in 1994. Seeing large groups of people come into bars decked out in Santa Clause attire is a fun experience for our drivers here at A Limo World. St. Patrick’s Day is another fun holiday that beer crawls are organized for.
